Peplink Network Management

Your Peplink Router. Your Dashboard. No Cloud Required.

Local-first network management for Peplink routers — without InControl 2 cloud dependency.

Peplink makes some of the best multi-WAN routers on the market. But managing them means either logging into the router’s admin interface (complex, requires credentials sharing) or relying on InControl 2 cloud (requires internet, per-device licensing, and sends your network data to the cloud). NCoDE Peplink gives you a third option: a clean, local dashboard that talks directly to your router’s API. No cloud. No licensing fees. No internet required to manage your own network.

Feature Overview
What You Can Control

NCoDE Peplink connects directly to your router’s local API to provide real-time network management. No cloud proxy, no account sign-up, no per-device fees. Every feature works even when your internet is down — because the dashboard runs on your local network.

🔃

WAN Priority & Failover

View all WAN connections at a glance — Ethernet, cellular, Wi-Fi as WAN, Starlink, VSAT, and USB tethering. See real-time status, signal strength for cellular connections, IP addresses, and data usage per interface. Set connection priorities to control which WAN is primary and which serves as backup. When your primary WAN goes down, the dashboard shows failover status in real time so you know exactly which connection is active and why.

Content Category Filtering

Block or allow entire web content categories with a single toggle — gambling, adult content, social networking, gaming, file sharing, audio/video streaming, and more. Changes apply immediately across all connected devices. Uses Peplink’s built-in web content filtering engine, so no external DNS filtering service is needed. Ideal for enforcing acceptable use policies on crew networks, student networks, or guest Wi-Fi without configuring individual devices.

Device Management & Blocking

See every device connected to your network — hostname, IP address, MAC address, connection type, and data usage. Identify unknown devices instantly. The dashboard shows connected clients in real time, making it easy to spot unauthorised devices on your network. Combined with content filtering, you have full visibility into who is on your network and what they can access, without needing to configure individual devices or install client software.

Per-WAN Bandwidth Testing

Run speed tests against any individual WAN connection directly from the dashboard. Measure download speed, upload speed, and latency for each WAN interface independently. This is critical for satellite connections like Starlink where speeds vary significantly by time of day and congestion level. Track historical speed test results to identify trends and justify bandwidth complaints to your ISP. No need to visit speed test websites that consume bandwidth on metered connections.

Starlink Integration & Alerts

Dedicated Starlink monitoring that goes beyond basic WAN status. Track Starlink dish status, signal quality, and obstructions. For maritime deployments, NCoDE monitors GPS position against territorial water boundaries and generates alerts when the vessel approaches regions where Starlink service may be restricted or require different licensing. The Starlink dish can be remotely rebooted from the dashboard when it becomes unresponsive — common in maritime environments.

Traffic Analysis

View bandwidth consumption broken down by traffic category — web browsing, streaming, social media, file downloads, VoIP, and more. Understand where your bandwidth is going without installing packet capture tools. Per-WAN traffic statistics show how much data each connection has consumed over time. Essential for metered satellite connections where every megabyte has a cost, and for identifying bandwidth-hungry applications that may need throttling or blocking.

Why Local-First Matters

Cloud-managed networking is convenient when you have reliable, affordable internet. But many Peplink deployments exist precisely because internet connectivity is unreliable, expensive, or security-sensitive. A cloud dependency defeats the purpose.

🔌 Works Offline

NCoDE Peplink communicates with your router over the local network. No internet connection is required to view WAN status, manage content filtering, check connected devices, or run speed tests. When your internet is down — which is precisely when you need network management the most — the dashboard still works. This is not an edge case for satellite-dependent, cellular, or remote deployments. It is the normal operating condition. Cloud-managed tools become useless at exactly the moment you need them.

💰 No Bandwidth Cost

Every cloud management session consumes bandwidth. On metered satellite connections (Starlink Maritime, VSAT, Fleet Xpress), that bandwidth has a real dollar cost. NCoDE Peplink uses zero internet bandwidth for network management because all communication stays on the local network. For vessels paying per-gigabyte satellite rates, this translates directly to operational savings. The same applies to cellular-dependent construction sites, mining operations, and mobile deployments where data plans have hard caps.

💳 No Per-Device Licensing

InControl 2 requires a license for each managed device, with annual renewal fees. NCoDE Peplink has no per-device licensing model. It connects to your router’s API using the credentials you already have. Whether you manage one router or twenty, the cost structure does not scale with device count. For organisations with multiple Peplink routers across sites, vessels, or vehicles, this represents significant cost avoidance compared to cloud management licensing.

🔒 Data Stays On Your Network

Network configuration data, connected device lists, traffic statistics, and content filtering policies never leave your local network. For organisations subject to HIPAA, ITAR, OPSEC requirements, or government security policies, this is not a preference — it is a requirement. Cloud management tools transmit network topology, device inventories, and traffic data to external servers. NCoDE Peplink keeps everything local, giving you full control over your network data.

Built for Every Peplink Deployment
One Dashboard. Every Industry.

Peplink routers power connectivity across dozens of industries. NCoDE Peplink works wherever your router does — no cloud dependency, no per-device licensing, no vendor lock-in.

Maritime & Offshore

Starlink territorial waters alerts, crew content filtering, WAN failover between VSAT and cellular, bandwidth management at sea. Monitor satellite signal quality and manage metered connections without consuming expensive bandwidth on cloud management tools.

🏗️

Construction & Mining

Rapid cellular deployment for temporary jobsites. Content filtering for workforce productivity. Device management without IT staff on site. When the cellular connection drops, the dashboard still works because it runs locally.

🏫

Education

CIPA-compliant content filtering for schools. Student internet safety dashboard. Bandwidth management across campus networks. Teachers and administrators can manage filtering without needing router admin credentials.

🏨

Hospitality

Guest network content filtering. Per-device bandwidth limits. WAN failover for remote resorts running cellular and Starlink. Staff can manage the guest network without exposing the main router interface to non-technical personnel.

🚓

Public Safety

Local-first operation for OPSEC. FirstNet/T-Priority compatible. Field bandwidth testing and WAN monitoring without cloud access. Network management data never leaves the vehicle or command post network.

🚛

Honest Comparison
NCoDE Peplink vs InControl 2

InControl 2 is Peplink’s official cloud management platform, and it is excellent for what it does. NCoDE Peplink is not a replacement — it is a complement for environments where local-first management matters.

InControl 2 Strengths

  • + Multi-site fleet management from a single cloud portal
  • + Firmware management and remote configuration push
  • + Advanced analytics and historical reporting across sites
  • + Group policies applied across dozens or hundreds of devices
  • + Remote access to routers behind NAT without VPN
  • + Ideal for MSPs managing customer networks at scale

NCoDE Peplink Strengths

  • + Works without any internet connection — fully local
  • + Zero bandwidth cost for network management
  • + No per-device licensing or annual renewal fees
  • + Network data never leaves the local network (OPSEC/HIPAA)
  • + Simplified interface for non-technical operators
  • + Ideal for single-site deployments needing hands-on control

They Are Complementary

If you manage 50 Peplink routers across a fleet of vessels, InControl 2 is the right tool for fleet-wide policy management, firmware updates, and centralised reporting. But when a vessel is at sea with a metered satellite connection and the crew needs to check WAN status, adjust content filtering, or troubleshoot a connectivity issue right now — NCoDE Peplink is what they reach for. It runs locally, costs nothing in bandwidth, and does not require the crew to have InControl 2 access or the router admin password.

Many organisations use both: InControl 2 for shore-side fleet management, and NCoDE Peplink as the onboard operational dashboard. The two do not conflict because NCoDE Peplink reads from the same router API that InControl 2 manages. Policies set via InControl 2 are reflected in the NCoDE dashboard, and local changes made through NCoDE are visible to InControl 2 on the next sync.
